Specialised training session in Bucharest (Romania)
On 25–26 May 2026, the Community Safety and Mediation Center (CMSC), together with DGASPC Sector 1, organised a specialised training session in Bucharest as part of the Helena Help Project, bringing together professionals from social services, law enforcement, healthcare, NGOs, and public authorities to strengthen coordinated responses to domestic violence.
Focus
The training focused on the development of the Family Justice Center model and the enhancement of multidisciplinary cooperation in supporting and protecting victims of domestic violence. Participants explored key topics including victim-centred and trauma-informed approaches, risk assessment and management, identification of high-risk cases, non-fatal strangulation, healthcare interventions, and integrated service delivery.
Contributions
The programme featured contributions from international experts and practitioners, including several members of GREVIO, who shared insights from monitoring the implementation of the Istanbul Convention and highlighted the importance of coordinated, survivor-centred responses to violence against women and domestic violence. Participants also benefited from the experiences of Family Justice Centers and other multidisciplinary models from across Europe, including Belgium, the Netherlands, Moldova, and Switzerland.
