Bio Marna Carroll

Marna Carroll is Service Director of Laois Domestic Abuse Service (LDAS) and has been with the organisation since its establishment as a specialist domestic abuse organisation providing a broad range of supports to women and children.

Her work has increasingly focused on how services and systems can respond more effectively to the complex realities of domestic abuse, with a particular interest in integrated, survivor-centred approaches and meaningful collaboration across agencies.

Marna is currently leading LDAS's work towards the development of a Family Justice Centre in Portlaoise. This reflects her ongoing commitment to moving towards a more integrated, community-focused design of services, where women and children can access holistic and specialist support without carrying the burden of navigating multiple disconnected services and systems.

Underlying this approach is a belief that services and systems must adapt to the realities of women and children subjected to domestic abuse, rather than expecting women and children to adapt to them.
