Bio Ellen O’Malley-Dunlop

Ellen O’Malley-Dunlop is a Psychotherapist and Group Analyst. She was the first elected member of The Council of Europe’s GREVIO Expert Group on Violence Against Women from Ireland and served from 2022-2026. She was GREVIO’s Vice President 2023-2025. She is Adjunct Professor at the University of Limerick’s Law school. Ellen was CEO of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre for 10 years and was Acting CEO of Saoirse Domestic Violence Services for one year, She was chair of the board of the National Women’s Council 2017-2020.

Ellen gained a wealth of experience in lobbying government, designing and commissioning research and overseeing and presenting national publicity awareness campaigns about sexual violence, such as the highly successful #AskConsent campaign.

She co-delivered two major pieces of research “The State’s Response to Domestic Sexual and Gender Based Violence” (2021) and “The Intersection of the Criminal Justice, Private Family Law and Public Law Child Care processes in Relation to Domestic and Sexual Violence” (2022).
