Bio Giussy Barbara

Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Milan and Director of the SVSeD (Service for Sexual and Domestic Violence), a multidisciplinary public center against gender violence located at the Policlinico Hospital in Milan, and associated with the European Family Justice Centers Alliance. Her primary scientific interests lie in the study of gender-based violence, encompassing its health, social and psychological dimensions.

She is also involved in several research projects related to the treatment of gynecological diseases, in particular endometriosis and associated pain and sexual function. Her research activities have been documented in a number of papers that have been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. She fulfils the role of ad hoc reviewer for several international journals.
